Brrr! When it gets cold here and rains, our house is like an ice box. Seriously. Our kitchen has granite counters that get so cold they could be used to make cold stone creamery. Houses out here don’t have the best insulation and of course we have radiant heat in each individual room which is pretty useless besides costing an arm and a leg.
Mr. fb stayed home today with me and we went out to find the chia seeds that everyone has been talking about. He actually knew what they are because he just finished reading Born to Run. I’m excited to read it. It’s supposed to be a great book. So we got the chia seeds at Whole Foods along with some other random things: popcorn, 2 avocados, 2 packages of veggie sausages, sprouted grain pitas, polenta and some tastiness from their salad bar area.
It rained most of the day and finally it started to clear up around 4ish so I made mr. fb go on a walk with me so we could talk about what we are doing about moving/not moving (long story). We got back and I needed to stretch so I did yoga with Steve Ross that I’ve got dvr’d from his Inhale show. I figured out Friday that I’ve been doing yoga with this same show for nearly 10 years. Good lord. I started yoga so I could get my arms in shape for my wedding dress. I know, very soulful of me…but it worked. I’ve been hooked ever since.
Dinner tonight was this:
My b.i.l. made turkey barley soup. I added some tabasco for some heat. May have had a second helping…delicious!
Back to work tomorrow. We’re going to try to make some new tasty dishes this week. Planning to use the polenta I bought for something good later this week.
